ECCCEROBOT – Embodied Cognition in a Compliantly Engineered Robot

Well, if you think it’s impossible to build an artificial intelligent robot, then you might want to reconsider it again.
Guys, let’s meet the first anthropomimetic robot, the ECCCEROBOT! For your information, the ECCCEROBOT is the short acronym of “Embodied Cognition in a Compliantly Engineered Robot”. It’s a three-year project funded by the 7th framework programme of the EU. Believe it or not, the ECCCEROBOT is known as the first anthropomimetic robot.
The main objective of the project is to investigate machine consciousness through internal modeling. By the way, this ECCCEROBOT is being tested repeatedly, so that it can be mounted on a powered mobile platform.
Furthermore, the researchers would like to develop methods of characterizing such robots in terms of the information flows. In this case, they have tried to investigate ways of controlling the robot during movement, interaction and mobile manipulation.
Since the ECCCEROBOT is the first anthropomimetic robot, there are many research have to be carried on to exploit the anthropomimetic nature. It’s to achieve some human-like cognitive characteristics through sensory-motor control!
