Electronics is a very wide stream. The subject is very vast in itself. The electronics is the main source of almost everything that is happening today. The whole working of the items is dependent mainly on the electronics base. In … Continue reading

Most Naturally Walking Robots

Robotics has been one of the most attractive feature and study that the scientists are working upon these days. They have come up with various robots of different functionalities. They try their best to evolve and make such a robot that serves their purpose in the best possible way. A robot is basically nothing but a machine which is programmed by the programmer who develops it in a way that it performs the desired function for which it is made up.

It is given a very similar experience like a human being so that it looks even more real. It is programmed in such a way that it also performs certain actions like the humans and can also walk. A general definition of the robotics states that it should at least perform the data processing and should be able to move objects. Walking robots are the most wanted ones these days. Cool technologies that are still in lab

The lab is a diverse area. There are many instruments set up in a laboratory. There is a lot of variation in the type of these instruments and technologies in a lab that we can see today. If we go thirty years back in time then we will come to see that the technologies that exist in the labs today are far much better than those that existed previously. It can hence be seen that with the lapse of time a lot of advancements are made in the science field which has lead to the improvement in the technologies that are used in the labs. A lab basically needs the best of instruments so that all the purposes and experiments that need to be carried out are done very efficiently and very easily. The types of instruments that are available in the labs today are the most developed and latest ones. It was not even imaginable to the people few years back that such instruments could also exist. But the answer is here as we can see that yes we have achieved the best ones in the recent years. The ones that we have today are much more easy to use and are far too much sophisticated than the ones that were used long time back.

Motion Powered Nano Devices

Nano devices have become very popular and famous these days. All this is due to the advancements being made in the field of science and technology. Nano devices are being made that are being powered by motion also. This is the latest advancement that has been seen lately. It has also made its use in the field of electricity. It has been seen that when 20 thousand nanowires were made to be crammed up so as to make a three centimeter square the very first power device can be created which will be powered on its own by the help of the piezoelectric materials and items. This was first done by the company known by the name of Georgia Tech. This material which is said to be piezoelectric has its own functionality. When it is pushed or pulled there is some sort of mild electric form charge generated. Hence we can see how it works. With more advancements it can also be seen that these piezoelectric nano wires can also be woven properly in form of any simple cotton shirt  or in any person’s shoe which would charge the battery of a cell phone by just simply walking. This is the most important and attractive feature of this which is also responsible for the popularity it has gained.

32GHz REAL TIME SCOPE

Agilent’s Infiniium 90000 X-Series oscilloscopes is the new  oscilloscope which boasts of 32 GHz bandwidth , this oscilloscope set a new mark of excellence for analog bandwidth promising to satisfy the needs of worldwide engineers to help them perform with maximum accuracy. It takes the emerging standards of wireline communication to a whole new level. It enables to take measurements with absolute accuracy and precision. This scope has lower noise floor which also boosts its efficiency to a very high extent. Accuracy in very small measurements require a low floor which the new scope satisfies and is therefore mark of excellence in terms of performance. In the front end of the scope there are two preamplifiers which are rated to 32 GHz.

Also in the front end there are included two edge trigger chips which have a edge trigger bandwidth of about 22 GHz. The radar applications therefore make a very nice use of these new scopes. The harmonic signals are captured with the help of low noise floor. Measurement floor of 180fs is offered by this oscilloscope. Continue reading

New project batch from Cornell University ECE 4760

It’s been a regular tradition every spring to check out on what’s new in Cornell University ECE 4760 final microcontroller projects. This year isn’t an exception. It seems that they started a 2010 list on new great AVR ATmega644 projects.

List is still building up but there already is a 20 project list with projects like Human Tetris, Glove Midi Controller, Talking Voltmeter and other. All projects are compiled with WinAVR/GCC tools – so everyone can take a glance and give a try. It’s a great list of projects starting from 1999 so there are tons of great interfacing examples, code snippets and even ideas for your new project. Keep eye on that lists as there are more to come (it always reaches about 40). Way to go ECE 4760!

Print toner traces directly on PCB

Well this sound amazing and scary. Everyone knows that printer toner usually is transferred with special glossy paper and iron, but printing directly… anyway fact is that it is possible and gives amazing results. Author claims and proves that he was able to print 2mill traces what means four traces between two DIP pins.

There isn’t any information about how it’s done as other people claim that printers modified as flat doesn’t give even close results. Take a look for more photos in gallery.
